he Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and the National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control,NAFDAC plan closer public-private collaborations for greater operational efficiency
At a strategic meeting with the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDACt, the Director General of NACCIMA, Ayoola Olukanni, proposed regular strategic collaboration between NAFDAC and NACCIMA for continuous sensitization and education on issues relating to procedures and requirements for NAFDAC product registration.
In her remarks, the Director General of NAFDAC , Prof. Mojisola Adeleye expressed the willingness of her Agency to closely collaborate with NACCIMA and the private sector for the achievement of the mandate of NAFDAC in all areas.
Recalling previous collaborations with NACCIMA, the NAFDAC DG called for increased momentum to facilitate the ease of doing busoness
In this regard, it was agreed that each organization will harness its structures to work together to achieve the desired objectives.
Some of the resolutions from the strategic meeting include: a quarterly NACCIMA-NAFDAC consultative meeting at the highest level; regular meetings between Regional offices of NAFDAC and NACCIMA members across the country to review and resolve conflicting issues; improvement in existing relationships between NAFDAC departments and NACCIMA trade/sectorial groups.
At the end of the meeting, a Technical Working Committee (TWC) made up of NACCIMA and NAFDAC representatives was set up and tasked with the responsibility of planning and organizing quarterly editions of the “NACCIMA-NAFDAC Quarterly Meeting”, as well other collaborative initiatives.
